In the late 19th and early 20th centuries merry-go-rounds or carousels were a popular form of entertainment in Jamaica, even perhaps a 'craze' in the 1890s. This site will provide a little information on this phenomenon, based on reports in the newspapers at the time.

Below is the only picture I have found so far of a merry-go-round in Jamaica, which was at an Exhibition and Fair on the Kingston Racecourse in 1932. I continue to look for something better!
